"Le Poulpe dans le Brouillard" (Acrylic on board, 6x6 inches)

"Le Poulpe dans le Brouillard," sounds fancy when in fact it means "The Octopus in the Fog." Okay, now that I translate that into English, it's pretty scary.
Fog in the Night
The beginning of this image came from an image I found in Laguna Beach Art Magazine (given to me by the mother of my patron Danny Means). I loved the bright light in the fog, which fits nicely into my "Nighttime Period."*
Fog and San Francisco
I didn't realize how much of my inspiration came from living in San Francisco in the Richmond district. The Richmond is one of the coldest/foggiest/loveliest places to live in SF. And although the fog was always cold, it was always quiet and pretty.**
Why French?
I admit that a lot of the time I use french, it's when the words in French rock so much harder than the English word. Okay <<poulpe>> isn't as awesome as "octopus," but <<brouillard>> for fog? Hell yes.
*Ooh, look at me, I have a period of art called "Nighttime," eat your heart out Picasso.
** As an aside, the one downside to living so close to the bay (besides the cold, fog, cost) was the foghorns. You can't sleep in even when the fog is sleepy.
